Valotihkuu - Bedroom Pop
Great instrumental from Valotihkuu. Feels like this has had some influence from early Washed Out (dat triple-drum fill-in) and I get a slight Italo-Disco vibe from this at times (Loiu$, anybody?). And on top of that, it has some great visuals.

Night Works - I Tried So Hard (Gold Panda Remix)
I’ve been trying for a while to pin point the exact, perturbations of the originality and susceptibility of this song but the little little synthy blimps create in-vivid virtual memoirs in my mind that when combined with the light-but-dusky bass lines are almost euphoric. Keep one for your self when listening to this tight little segment.

Windslo - It’s Too Late
another producer from Denver. it’s like there’s something in the water coming off dem mountains. the high-pitched trickling synth is a nice touch before the vocal break - we’re paid off with a more ‘advanced’ baseline and deeper synth which drags more and more during the development of the layered beats. bliss.

well now, this is something else. it has been a while since something has genuinely surprised me in terms of quality with regards to chillwave - and this is doing just that. I want to draw comparisons with artists like washed out & toro y moi yet that somehow feels unfair - this has a heart & direction of it’s own.

Polkadot - Eternity
sometimes, you just gotta rep - rep hard and well. this track is from sam bevan aka. polkadot, who appears to be from my ‘endz’ (the west midlands). hard to classify this one, but it feels like a house track (vocals, hats, taps) with some chillwave feeling (bass, synth & side-chain compression). it’s relaxing.

here’s an instrumental that is a change from the usual pace round here. It reminds me of a track you’d find a UK MC dropping bars over - it’s big like ben, deep like trench. caught my ear and I’ve span it a dozen times now.
